Bleach services are expected to come out softer than they used to. What "bond care" actually means
Hair gets its strength from three internal bond types: hydrogen bonds (reset every time hair is wet), salt bonds (broken by pH shifts), and disulfide bonds (the strong covalent links between cysteine amino acids). Disulfide bonds are what colour and bleach services disrupt the most. Lifting hair by several levels requires breaking these bonds repeatedly — and once they're broken, they don't reform on their own.
That's the gap bond care products fill. They contain reactive ingredients that either rebuild broken disulfide bonds, create new temporary bridges where original bonds used to be, or protect intact bonds from further damage during the service. The result: bleached or coloured hair that retains more elasticity, breaks less, and holds tone longer.

Storage and handling notes
Keep bond-care products in a temperature-stable area, away from direct sun and away from your developer storage if possible (cross-contamination of bottles is the most common cause of "this batch isn't working" complaints). Always close caps tightly — these formulas don't love air exposure.
